Barry Hall

Barry Hall was brought up in Stocksfield in Northumberland and attended Prudhoe High School where he explains: Had the good fortune to attend while artist Birtley Aris taught there - He inspired me to become a painter.

 

1982 graduated from Sunderland Polytechnic with a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art.

 

1997 graduated from the University of Northumbria with an M.A. in Fine Art. 

​

Has exhibited in various group and solo exhibitions over the years.

 

Barry lives in Jarrow on Tyne, UK.

The Art Advance Project 2002 - 2014

​

In 2001 Barry founded Arts Advance, a small community arts project based in South Tyneside. Over the years, with the help of friends and volunteers, the project engaged very many local people in enjoyable arts and heritage activities. The 3-year Words From The Wise project, sponsored by the Local Heritage Initiative and Nationwide Building Society, involved over 200 older people in gathering oral and written history.
