Edlingham Castle, Northumberland 2004
Edlingham Castle is set in rolling moorland near the town of Alnwick in Northumberland. Built by John de Edlingham in the 12th Century as a two story house near Edlingham burn, it was fortified by Sir William De Felton in 1296. Over the years the house was further fortified and by the 1400’s was referred to as a castle. I had wanted to visit this site for a while and was not disappointed as it came into view. The weather on the day was dramatic which gave the drawing wonderfully atmospheric feel.
The original A2 (420x594mm) indian ink drawing is available to purchase. Please email me for details.
