The Arts Advance Writers Group

The Arts Advance Writers Group is a friendly and informal group led by Ann Alexander.

The group meets every other Monday night and has been together since 2002, meeting at Trinity House Social Centre in Laygate.

Each session, members look at each other's work and offer constructive suggestions for improvements and development. Sometimes the group works to a set theme, for example the stories covering fascinating aspects of local history, which were published in our second anthology ‘ bric-a-brac’.

Members have now published their fourth anthology of work, 'All Write Now'.

The groups first three anthologies of writings Eternity and Beyond, Bric- a - Brac and Simply Read are on sale now at the Central Library, South Shields.

All of our booklets are self published through the Arts Advance Press and are available to purchase at South Shields Central Library and certain other branch libraries. Recent titles are also available at The Museum and Art Gallery, South Shields and Donahue's Newsagents, Station Road, Hebburn. Our publications sell out very quickly.
