Ian
Larmont: Artist and writer
Ian is a staunch supporter of Arts Advance projects. He regularly contributes short stories as a member of the Writers’ Group along with some of the writing he does for children. He led the Community Course “Blueprints for Writing” and the illustration course which led to the “Bordering on the Ridiculous” booklet.
He is probably best known for his poetry. Mostly humorous, sometimes thoughtful, he continues to have his work accepted by mainstream publishers for their poetry anthologies for children.
A year ago, ARTS ADVANCE was pleased to publish his anthology of poetry for children, “THE SECOND BEASTLY BOOK of poems by Ghoulies, Ghosties, Ghastlies and Nasties, Hag-bags and Scallywags”, which he illustrated himself.
He is currently working on BOOK 4 of “The Adventures of Hungry Harry” (working title). It is a quest-type saga for 9-12 years old children. It involves elves, dwarves and monsters; with a lot of action and even more blood being spilled, in a variety of colours, along the way.
Will Kor Derrin regain his rightful kingdom in the Iron Mountains?
Will Kor Derrin ever marry Tor Cragmar?
Will Tor Cragmar trim her moustache and put away her throwing-axes?
Will Harry ever stop being hungry, greedy and totally selfish?
Ian says, “By the end of Book Four, maybe we will all know.”
