Barry HallBarry Hall was born in 1960 in Jarrow on Tyneside. From the age of six he lived in rural Northumberland where he developed his great love for the northern landscape and its historic buildings.

Barry graduated from Sunderland Polytechnic School of Art in 1982 with a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art and later in 1997 an M.A. in Fine Art from the University of Northumbria.

Over the years he has held various one man shows at venues which include The Bede Monastery Museum, Jarrow in 1984 and 1987 and the Customs House Fusion Gallery, South Shields in 2000.

His work has also been included group shows at Washington Arts Centre (1988), Durham University (1986), Viking Studios & Gallery (1997), University of Northumbria (1997), Tannery Gallery, London (1997), Darlington Art Gallery (1998), Museum & art Gallery, South Shields (1998). He was first prize winner in the New Festival of Art in 1998.

He has taught art for many organisations over the years and in 2001, founded Arts Advance, a small community arts group based in Jarrow. Barry works part time in Adult & Community Learning and is Co-Director of Inartform Ltd.

Barry organises his work in series. Hence the themed galleries on this website.
